Light-grimdark space fantasy
The Galanova
Universe
Six living gods are trying to align the galaxy. They are physically present and usually planet-sized. A seventh power is what they're aligning against.
The gods settle the wars. Mortals get the quiet afterward — the loose ends, the buried griefs nobody came back to finish. That isn't the consolation prize. It's the point.
The Six Living Gods
Each god governs a domain and bears a rune. The runes are not divine marks — the peoples of the galaxy invented them, as symbols of the religion forming around the Six. They escalate in stroke count, in the order below.
-
Ceta'Canaashen
A planet-cetacean
Grants order and alignment. It reads you.
-
The Liquimetal God
A metallic, amorphous planet-core
Intragalactic connection, technology and communication. Answers in static and fragments, deliberately hard to parse.
-
Trael the Greatmother
A great golden wolf — an overgrown golden Cani
The irrational, mystical counterweight to Ceta'Canaashen's order. She speaks with warmth, and with words.
-
Bukaga
A planet-sized fungoid mass
Envelops, studies, and reprocesses.
-
Caelith
Banshee queen of an all-but-dead civilization of dragon-riding magi
Spirit and ancestry.
-
Alaaga, the Stone Dragon
A stone dragon
Empress of Matter and Force. She weighs you.
The Seventh
There is a seventh god — the one the Six are aligning against. His mark is a seventh mortal-made sigil, drawn to denote him exactly as the six runes denote the living gods.
He is not a faction you bargain with. He's an existential tide, and given time he devours everything. He doesn't arrive as an army. He spreads as a network.
The tide connects.
